PIRAEUS (Greece) - Tickets are now on sale for the highly-anticipated FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Piraeus, Greece, which is being held July 2-7 in the Peace and Friendship Stadium.

Slovenia, who stormed to an OQT victory in Kaunas, Lithuania, to reach the Tokyo Games, and Croatia, winners of the 2016 FIBA OQT in Turin, Italy, will be in Piraeus.

In addition to them and Greece, New Zealand, the Dominican Republic and Egypt round out this very difficult OQT.

Only the country that wins the Piraeus OQT Final on July 7 will advance to the Men’s Olympic Basketball Tournament Paris 2024.

There are numerous games that already have the fans buzzing at all four OQTs, with Riga, San Juan and Valencia also host cities. Among the must-watch matchups before the Semi-Finals and Final in the Piraeus OQT will be the July 2 games Slovenia v Croatia and the Dominican Republic v Egypt, while on July 3 Greece will have a showdown with the Dominicans.

These experts offered their predictions on the OQT in Piraeus and agreed that it looks as if it could be the hardest of the four to win.

Meanwhile, Nikos Zisis, the Greece legend that helped his country win the OQT in 2008 when it last hosted the tournament, is now his country's national team general manager. He looked ahead to this summer's OQT in this interview with FIBA.basketball.
